Sailing Conditions & Safety
Sailing License
A recognized sailing license is required. The skipper must also possess a Turkish transit log, which the charter company typically assists with.
Life Jackets
Mandatory for children under 12 to wear a life jacket on deck.
Cabotage
Be aware of Turkish cabotage laws, which generally restrict bareboat charters to starting and ending in the same marina.
Local Knowledge
The Meltemi wind can be strong, particularly in the Aegean region around Bodrum and Datça. The Gökova Gulf offers more sheltered sailing for less experienced crews.
